The Best Fruit Cleanse Diet Plan

The overwhelming majority of so called diet plans on the market today promise us massive and immediate weight loss, leaner muscle mass, that we can quit smoking and save tons of money on car insurance if we just take this little magic pill– which incidentally costs as much as our car payment.


Amidst all the hype, false promises and desperation to loose weight safely, it can be easy to loose faith that there are ways to do so without spending tons of money or dealing with shady– potentially unsafe– pills and ‘treatments’.


Maybe your goal isn’t to loose weight, perhaps you just want to detoxify your body and be more healthy. Good news! A good fruit cleanse diet will help you do that too.


Just what is a fruit cleanse diet?

The fruit cleanse or ‘fruit flush’ diet was first pioneered by a clinical nutritionist named Jay Robb. He recommends only doing the cleanse for three days at a time in order to avoid malnutrition, however the extensive list of converts who’ve had results from this diet are many and there’s a reason for that. It’s simple.


The basic idea of a fruit cleanse is to help your body shed itself of unwanted toxins which help your body function more smoothly, speed up your processes and work like the well lubricated machine it was designed to be.


Why is it Helpful?

Since almost all of today’s foods are processed with chemicals and all kinds of other stuff that our bodies were never meant to digest, it can be hard for us to break them down as we were meant to. The result is often weight gain, health problems and a general feeling of being lethargic and ‘not quite right’. However because the fruit cleanse focuses on putting all natural ingredients into your body, you can see a massive turn around in your body’s operation and your general sense of well being.


The Plan

Since finding and buying natural foods can be expensive when compared to processed and packaged (even canned) foods, it’s a good idea to have a plan so you’re not buying things on impulse. From that we can approach the three day strategy:


Day 1:

The first day is preparation. Begin with a protein drink every 2 hours– from 8 AM to 4 PM. This consists of nothing more than 1 1/4th cup of egg whites. An hour after your drink, consume around 10 ounces of water.


At dinner, have 3-6 cups of raw vegetables, include plenty of leafy greens and a tablespoon of olive oil. Finish it off with 3-6 ounces of lean fish or poultry. An hour after dinner, have another glass of water. This sets your body up with plenty of protein to tackle the next two days.


Days 2 and 3:

This is where the magic occurs. Eating fresh fruits throughout the day, ending with a vegetable salad at dinner.

8 AM 2 cups of cantaloupe

10 AM. 2 cups of strawberries

12 PM. 1 banana

2 PM 2 medium apples

4 PM. 1 large mango

6 PM. 3 to 6 cups of raw vegetable salad with lots of leafy greens and 1 to 2 tablespoons olive or flax seed oil for dressing. Half of an avocado (sliced or cubed) makes a good compliment to the salad. Wash it down with a protein drink of 12 ounces of water and 5 tablespoons of egg whites.


To keep hydrated, be sure to drink at least 10 ounces of water an hour after each serving of fruit and after your salad.


Initially you may find yourself getting extremely hungry between drinks and fruit, drinking lots of water will help satisfy your hunger during the diet. Remember, while on the fruit cleanse, you should avoid any stimulants such as coffee, tea, juice and sodas, as well as canned foods and dried or frozen fruits and vegetables as these provide little nutritional value for the purpose of boosting your body’s natural systems.
